ABOUT US

It seems as though I have always been a part of the creative industry. I have designed for many companies over the past twenty years. I started out designing for two different lace companies located in New York City. The designs were for the craft and hobby portion of the market. I then started my own pattern company, Pearl Louise Designs, in 1989. We most recently celebrated our tenth anniversary as a quilt shop. We made a huge move from a very small cottage in 2006. Our wonderful new shop consists of a hotel built in 1934 and a Victorian house built in 1917. The two buildings were connected with a huge foyer in the early 70’s. So the Thimble Cottage Quilt Shop became the Thimble Cottage Quilt Village. See the Visit Our Shop page.

Our move into a “New” building has also brought some new changes to my staff. Julie Weaver is my office manager and right hand woman. She is sometimes known as the shipping department! Julie is also a quilt designer, and you will find her designs in many publications.

Cindy Reil helps in all areas of the shop. She is a very creative and detailed person. Cindy loves decorative painting. We always ask Cindy for her input when we are designing fabrics.

Brenda Less joined us shortly after our move. She is in charge of our pattern department and takes care of many phone orders.

Marilyn Denison works part time and is very good with our customers. Cathy Teeslink joined our staff a few years ago. She is our Basic Beginning teacher and helps with many aspects of the business. Marie Craig came on board early last year. She works part time while getting her degree in counseling.

When visiting our area be sure to stop in and see us. We are located about a half hour from Mt. Rushmore in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. The Thimble Cottage Quilt Village is located on the corner of Mt. Rushmore Road and Columbus Street in Rapid City, South Dakota.
